Africa ICBC Construction
In the Community, By the Community (ICBC), a holistic ministry model, seeks to establish stronger, healthier communities in Eswatini, Africa. Each ICBC centers around a local church that contains a pastor's home, a church building, and a preschool. By living in the community, the pastor and his wife build a church that seeks to provide evangelism and discipleship, clean water, food, education, and health care to those in impoverished areas, with a special focus on orphan care. The ICBC preschools provide education, security, a sense of belonging, and one meal a day for 30-40 children. Children who attend an ICBC preschool typically progress to primary school testing 1-2 years ahead of non-ICBC students.
Skills development and job-relevant training are part of the offerings at an ICBC. Sustainability projects are developed so each ICBC can become self-sustaining within two years after completion. CLC works with our Eswatini partner, Pastor Kevin Ward, and Challenge Ministries to develop and sustain ICBCs.
